Let the rain wash away the Pain

(In honor of the people affected by the Louisiana Flood of 2016)

Troubles are floating through the minds
Of so many sleepless strangers
How can one hide the thoughts they have
When their mind just wants to wander

So many things that they once owned
Are now lost and on their way
But now with what they’ve been through
They need a warm place to stay

The few people who were unaffected
Knew how lucky it was to be spared
Seeing so much death and destruction
Proved how important it is to care

What was once a place divided
Has found a way to heal
Thousands of helping hands reaching out
When life has gotten too real

Sometimes in our hardest moments
All we need is a common ground
Then strength will rise fast in numbers
When we thought no help was found
